Farthing of Edward I

This coin was believed to be an Edward I Irish farthing but the finder, Joe Dirth, wanted to know if he was correct.

On the obverse the legend reads ERA NG LIE around the king’s head, which is set within a triangle and the coin is 10mm in diameter so it must be a farthing of Edward I. The legend on the reverse CIVI TAS DVBL INIE, which indicates it was struck at the mint situated in Dublin.

Due to weakness in crucial areas I cannot pin the coin down to an exact type. Irish farthings used to be rare but their rarity has been diluted over the last couple of decades by the number of examples found by detectorists.
