This specimen has good eye appeal but would grade no higher than VF

From the design of the obverse, which features a seated figure of the king, I can say this is a sovereign type penny of Henry VII

this specimen is in superb condition. It has been in the soil for close to 1,800 years but is unmarked and looks to be as fresh as it was when it left the Rome mint in AD 247

This type of denarius is sometimes referred to as the tribute penny mentioned in the Gospel of St. Matthew

it’s Ancient British, around 2,000 years old and it’s one more specimen than I’ve ever managed to find
