Description

The PAS records this as a bird feeder dating to 1200 – 1500 AD. Bird feeders normally have one flat edge, typically in a D shape, to allow them to attach to the birdcage. Small lead vessels of similar form could be inkwells, cup weights or dice shakers. The object is undergoing further examination at North Lincolnshire Museum.
